I love to call them the Bougie Foodies. There's no better term for the most picky uncertain eaters I've ever known. You're not alone! This thought runs through every mothers mind at some point. I try my best to not let it get under my skin. Sometimes I get over it very quickly but other times definitely it makes me explode if its the last straw. Take a deep breath and take a step back and remember they are just a toddler dealing with a ball of emotions.
Here are some things I'm sure you can relate to:
1. When they only take one bite: I can't stand when Bastian ask for tons of food and then takes one bite...."I'm full or I'm done". He goes to play or he wants something sugary. He'll eat anything with sugar faster than I've ever seen in my life. But nipples on real food like it's filled with cancer. So hungry he goes all day until he's starving and eats the cold abandon food he discarded.
2. When dinner time last 4 hours: When you force them to sit down and eat they take forever to eat. They are like little wiggle worms, dancing and playing; not focusing on the task at hand. They only are eating because they must but they don't want the fun to end. This can be very annoying to the point of yelling. The scream method in a quiet place is the trick.
3. Letting a good hot meal get cold: You spend a whole 30 minutes making your little something nice and hot to eat. Just for it to just sit there and get ice cold. They turn to you every time and tell you they want it to be warmed up. Here you are spending another 10 minutes reheating something you already spent 30 minutes preparing. Do they care about your efforts......I think not! Just be thankful they ate it and move on with life! Stay strong mama you got this!
Hell just throw the shit away and let them go hungry... fuck it! 😝 Comment Below on your bougie foodie experience! 👇🏾
